Holiday Fair "After" The Very Merry



Thanks to all making

a success!
It rained reindeer for most of the morning,
 but that did not keep our fans away.
Everybody one walked out of Gollmar Hall
with gifts and cheer to share with their friends and family.

  It's all but a memory now!
WOW  what a Fair!!!
Thanks to you!
A wonderful time was had by all.
We think it was the best Very Merry ever!
Hundreds of you from all over Wisconsin and beyond.
Shopping, talking, sipping, hugging, chatting, laughing...
You brought your moms and dads, you bought you kids, you came with your spouses.
It was amazing and exhausting.
Thank you! Thank YOU!! THANK YOU!!!

Kae Taylor - Batik

 
Kae Taylor,
 went to art school in Nebraska
 and started out as a metal sculptor. 
When she and her husband, Bud, moved to Madison
she explored Batik, a wax resist dyeing on cloth. 
She has perfected this ancient art form with her amazing images. 
She is one the best batik artists we know in the upper Midwest.
 Kae and Bud have three daughters.

Frank Kudla - Master Metalsmith

 
Frank Kudla
is a master metal-smith.
 He loves to garden (especially growing heritage tomatoes)
do gourmet cooking, is a history buff and has a passion for working with metal. 
Frank designs and creates mother's rings,
pendants, earrings and is now making a new line of silver bracelets. 
He lives in Baraboo with his artist wife, Char.

John and Margaret Crahen 
have shown their
exquisite glass work from the fairs beginnings.
They love to travel and have done shows all over the US. 
They have a large studio in the Evergreens near Baraboo. 
They  lived in Panama before coming back to their family in Reedsburg.

Wild Four Bakery - Baked Goods

 
The Wild Flour Bakery
is one of Milwaukee's beloved bakeries.
 They sometimes put the bakery on the road
and visit shows and fairs throughout Wisconsin. 
Dolly and Greg, seen here, started the bakery
 and specialize in Breads, Bagels, Cookies for the Season and More.

Pat Kroth's
 silk scarves are dyed individually.
They use leaves and nature for there inspiration. 
Pat is from the Madison area
and her work is exquisite. 
She is into exercise and good health
has competed in the Madison Iron Man competition. 
We're glad she is returning to our 6th Very Merry.

Julie Sutter-Blair - Drawing

 
Julie Sutter-Blairs 
work is like no other.
This Belleville artist, will make her second appearance at The Very Merry.
Her drawings and prints have won numerous awards at art fairs across in the Mid-West. 
She says "Nothing is permanent in nature", so she captures and holds it  in her graphics.
 Noted Wisconsin author, Jerry Apps, and Julie collaborated on
a beautiful book - Wisconsin Travelers Companion
Julie is married and their son, Patrick, keeps them busy and happy.

Her work is truly one of a kind - no two lamps are ever alike.
Her background is in watercolor paintings.
Lucy lives in Reedsburg with her husband.
She has three adventurous kids who've traveled the world.

You may remember Lora's candles from last years Very Merry.
Her work was a huge hit - so come early!
Lora lives in LaValle and just could married to Kevin in October!!!
She has three kids.
Has worked at RR Donnelly for 22 years.
 She loves the outdoors - gardening, fishing, camping
and candlemaking!

Their  love for nature abounds in their enchanting work.

Mimi and Mary live in Reedsburg with their husbands and children.
Mimi also writes a weekly column in a local newspaper.

Win Byers 
be one of two potters in
The Very Merry Holiday Fair.
Win lives with his wife Sandy - also a talented artist.
Their huge studio is in a huge old  school house.
Before living in Wisconsin, Sandy and Win started out in
 New York and Madison before settling in Rock Springs.
They have two kids - Elizabeth in Seattle and Carl in Appleton.

This will be Jenni's second year in The Very Merry.
Her extraordinary painting on glass is awash of color and fun!
Jenni lives in Watertown with her artist husband Paul.  
They travel shows and fairs in Wisconsin showing their artwork.  
Her booth is just steps inside the Arts Building on Water St December 7 & 8.   
She will also be in the Holiday Fair "After" the Very Merry - December 15!

Mariella from Preston, Minnesota and Char from Baraboo, WI.
They have been making hand bags for 23 years.
They love to play with color, texture and design.
They make their own patterns.
Their handbags can be seen at this years
Very Merry December 7 & 8
 and will also be in The Holiday Fair December 15.

The Doors Will Open at Noon!

 
 Open the doors 
and find the spirit of the circus thrives 
at the refurbished Baraboo Arts Banquet Hall,
 a building that once served as the Ringling Brothers winter shop and storage quarters.
Now an events venue and location for 
The Very Merry Holiday Fair.
323 Water Street, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
NEW THIS YEAR  
the fair opens 
at Noon on Gala Friday and closes at 7 PM.
 Saturday hours are 9 AM - 4 PM.

Frank Delivers Canvases



Today Frank, from The Very Merry Holiday Fair,
 delivered a box of 4" x 4" canvases to the 
Baraboo Boys and Girls Club. 
The kids will paint the canvases and sell them 
at the VMHF for a fundraiser for the club! 
In the pic, you see Frank, Karen and Arline (a director and club president) 
and the kids holding paint brushes ready to start the project.
Their fun paintings will be for sales December 7 & 8 in the Arts Building.
 *Note - Frank cut pumpkin faces on recycled cans 
and sold them at his studio during the
 Fall Art Tour in Octobe
to raise $'s to purchased the canvases.

 with her beautiful cards.
